Barr to represent WVU at AAMC mid-career women's conference

Dr. Karen Barr, associate professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at the West Virginia University School of Medicine, will attend the 2017 Mid-Career Women Faculty Leadership Development Seminar in Scottsdale, Arizona late this fall.

The December 2-5 seminar, hosted annually by the Association of American Medical Colleges, aims to introduce female physicians and scientists at the associate professor level to skills that will support their path to success and leadership.

Over the course of three days, attendees will:

  • Discuss paths to leadership and develop long-term career plans
  • Network with mentors and colleagues in academic medicine and science
  • Acquire tools and develop skills necessary to improve performance and organization

Barr will be the only representative of WVU. Applications for the 2017 seminar has closed.
