School of Medicine’s Gauri Pawar named to the ACGME Residency Review Committee for Neurology

Gauri Pawar, M.D., associate professor and director of the residency program in the Department of Neurology, was recently selected to serve on the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Residency Review Committee for Neurology. Dr. Pawar’s voting term will begin July 1, 2017, with additional non-voting duties beginning as early as January 2017.

The ACGME accredits Sponsoring Institutions and residency and fellowship programs, confers recognition on additional program formats or components, and dedicates resources to initiatives addressing areas of importance in graduate medical education.

“This is a very prestigious position and a testament to all the hard work that Dr. Pawar has put into resident education locally and nationally,” Norman Ferrari, M.D., vice dean for medical education and chair, Department of Medical Education, said.
