WVU's Division of Occupational Therapy, Occupational Therapy Program, is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 6116 EXECUTIVE BOULEVARD, SUITE 200, NORTH BETHESDA MARYLAND 20852-4929. NBCOT Examination Results for Our Students

Graduates are able to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. More information regarding the exam can be found at http://www.nbcot.org. After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR). Most states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination.

Note: A felony conviction may impact a graduate’s ability to take the NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc.) examination and/or obtaining a state license. The number of students graduating from the WVU OT Program over the past three years (2017, 2016, 2015) was 120. This number represents 96% of the total original admitted number of 125 students.
