Specialized facilities

As a student in an academic medical center, you'll have access to everything that we have to offer including:

  • STEPS, a state-of-the-art simulation center, where students are learning life-saving procedures, developing interprofessional communication skills, and using new technologies, before they get into patient care environments.
  • The Human Performance Lab, which gives students the opportunity to work along side experts to craft customized, clinical exercise programs for disease prevention, management and rehabilitation.
  • Faculty research labs where some of West Virginia's most important medical research is taking place.

Specialized courses

As a student in the School of Medicine, you'll also get an unparalleled opportunity through specialized course work. Students often learn anatomy through experiential learning in the Human Cadaver Lab.
