Fellowship Information

The fellowship provides extensive “hands-on” surgery and offers clinical opportunities in an academic setting. The fellow should expect to encounter the full range of corneal disease and surgeries including PK, DALK, DSAEK, DMEK, K Pro, ocular surface reconstruction, LASIK / PRK, PTK, anterior stromal puncture, and corneal crosslinking. The fellow is a member of faculty, functioning as an instructor and mentor to residents and medical students. The fellow is also an active collaborator with all of our subspecialty teams here at the Eye Institute.

The fellow can take advantage of Morgantown, which is a unique place with amenities usually found in much larger cities but with the feel of a smaller one. West Virginia offers outstanding outdoor recreational opportunities and many cultural events. WVU Medicine is growing with a new Children’s Hospital and expanded outpatient facilities currently being constructed throughout West Virginia. The Eye Institute is growing in terms of faculty space, trainees, research and patient volume.

It is a great place to work and continue your education.
