Call for Submissions to WVU Medical Humanities Magazine "Synapses"

Do you enjoy writing poetry, painting, drawing, or photography? Or do you have other artistic hobbies such as jewelry-making, sculpture, pottery or woodworking? The West Virginia University Department of Neurology would like to showcase your talents in a new art and literary magazine called "Synapses."

The magazine is aptly named "Synapses" as a reference to the connections between neurons, just as the goal of the magazine is to promote connections between patients and their medical providers. This project invites medical students, residents, faculty, nurses, clinical associates, other healthcare team members, technicians, patients, and family members of patients to participate. There is no specific theme, but the artwork should be inspired by the interaction between the patient and provider. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis. All submitted work will be considered for publication and all artists will be notified of the final decision via email. Need art supplies please for grab-and-go bag of supplies.

This project is part of the ACGME Back to Bedside Initiative. The team is led by residents, Lincey Alexida Wilson, Krithika Peshwe and mentored by faculty Gauri Pawar, Jessica Frey and Eric Seachrist.
