Albeir Y. Mousa, MD, FACS, RPVI, MPH, MBA, professor of vascular surgery at the WVU School of Medicine Charleston campus was honored by students and residents as “Faculty of the Year” for his knowledge and excellence in teaching and the many opportunities he provides for training and growth.

“Dr. Mousa is well-respected as a physician who is very approachable and one who models the kind of behavior that we encourage in our learners,” said Dr. John Linton, Associate Vice President for Health Sciences and Dean of the WVU School of Medicine’s Charleston Campus. Dr. Linton joins Dr. Mousa’s peers in recognizing the strong relationships he builds with students and colleagues and his willingness to help individual students.

Dr. Mousa has presented open vascular surgery simulation events at the CAMC Vascular Center of Excellence at the Robert C. Byrd Clinical Teaching Center on the WVU / CAMC Memorial Hospital campus as a means to give participants hands-on training in complex situations.

Simulation is just one of the many important methodologies that Dr. Mousa has applied in his teaching to bridge the gap between theory and practice in medical education.

Congratulations to Dr. Mousa.
