Dr. David B. Nelson to host Pediatric Grand Rounds June 26

The West Virginia University Department of Pediatrics Grand Rounds will host David B. Nelson, M.D., FACOG, on Wednesday, June 26 from 8. to 9 a.m. at the Fukushima Auditorium in the Health Science Center and on Zoom.

Dr. Nelson is an associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Division Chief of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Irving. He is a Dedman Family Scholar in Clinical Care and holds the Gillette Professorship of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The presentation is titled “Extending Maternal Care After Pregnancy (eMCAP): An Initiative to Address Health Care Disparities and Enhance Access to Care After Delivery.” Nelson’s presentation will cover collective responses to maternal mortality crisis, findings from state-based Maternal Mortality Review Committees and demonstration projects targeting an underserved community for postpartum care.
