Dr. Ramesh Daggubati joins the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Ramesh Daggubati, M.D., has joined the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute as the associate chief of Cardiology and the director of the Structural Heart Disease Program.

Dr. Daggubati’s international experience and leadership will further augment our expanded interventional cardiology services.”
Dr. Daggubati came to the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute from the NYU Winthrop Hospital Department of Cardiovascular Services, where he served as the associate chief of Cardiology, program director of Interventional Cardiology, and director of cardiac catheterization labs.
“Dr. Daggubati’s experience in innovative transcatheter based therapies will augment the strength of the Cardiology program here at the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute. This will aid our mission in providing patients with the full spectrum of personalized medical and interventional Cardiology care,” Partho Sengupta, M.D., chief of Cardiology at the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute, said. “We are excited to have him join our Division.”
He received his medical degree from Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore, India, where he also completed an internal medicine residency. He completed his neurology residency at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad, India, and an internal residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, in Jamaica, New York.
Daggubati completed his research fellowship in cardiology at Loma Linda University Medical Center, in Loma Linda, California. He completed his clinical fellowship in cardiology at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York, and his fellowship in interventional cardiology at the Yale School of Medicine, Bridgeport Hospital, in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, the American Heart Association, the American Medical Association, the Indian Medical Association, and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.
Daggubati is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, cardiovascular imaging, and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
