Faculty have opportunity to get involved with M.D. White Coat Ceremony

The John W. Traubert M.D. White Coat Ceremony in March takes place at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12 at the WVU Creative Arts Center.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing, attending in person may not be possible. However, provisions are being made to stream the ceremony, and those who wish can still attend in spirit. Additional details on the livestream will be shared as they are finalized.

School of Medicine faculty members can make a meaningful contribution by sponsoring a coat and writing a simple note. This tradition is a hallmark of the ceremony, and it’s a vital connection between experienced clinicians and those just starting their journey through clerkships.

Those words of encouragement and wisdom go a long way to help students reaffirm their purpose and pursuit of knowledge.
