Fairness West Virginia is offering a free online webinar to help healthcare professionals and students learn the best practices for serving LGBTQ patients.
This skill-building webinar aims to provide medical and mental health students with the tools necessary to provide competent and compassionate care to LGBTQ patients.
This webinar will provide foundational training on core concepts relating to LGBTQ people, including sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, and gender expression. The webinar will provide students with tools to address a sexual orientation or gender identity they may not be familiar with. There will also be a general overview on the realities of being LGBT in West Virginia within the healthcare system.
Finally, the webinar will provide students with a set of best practices when working with LGBTQ patients.
