HealthNet Aeromedical Services selected as Air Medical Program of the Year

The Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS) has selected HealthNet Aeromedical Services as its 2019 Program of the Year.

"Our team members work tirelessly every day to provide the best care for our patients and their hard work and dedication is now justly being recognized by our industry leaders," said Clinton Burley, president and CEO of HealthNet Aeromedical Services. "We are grateful to receive this prestigious honor which will drive us to continue to raise the bar for critical care in Central Appalachia.”

The Program of the Year award, sponsored by Airbus, recognizes an emergency medical transport service (national or international) that has demonstrated a superior level of patient care, management prowess, high quality leadership through visionary and innovative approaches, customer service, safety consciousness, marketing ingenuity, community service, and a commitment to the medical transport community as a whole.

“Since 1986, Charleston Area Medical Center has partnered with other tertiary care hospitals in West Virginia to support HealthNet Aeromedical Services and the lifesaving care they provide to our patients,” said David Ramsey, CEO of Charleston Area Medical Center. “Their unwavering dedication to high-quality patient care through the years is commendable and certainly worthy of this honor.”

A focus on patient and crew safety, utilization of a just culture model, and the program’s in-house training and clinical simulator are among the factors why HealthNet Aeromedical Services was chosen to receive the award.

“This program provides a quality service to our patients and has been rightfully recognized by the Association of Air Medical Services. We are proud to partner with HealthNet Aeromedical Services and we congratulate them on this prestigious honor,” said Kevin Fowler, president of Cabell Huntington Hospital.

From the flight teams on our aircraft, to the mechanics who keep our fleet up and running, to the clinicians providing critical care ground transport across the region to the leaders who are dedicated to supporting them all - these individuals make HealthNet Aeromedical Services a valuable and successful program.

“When time is of the essence, the team at HealthNet Aeromedical Services is available around the clock to provide care and transportation to the critically ill and injured,” said Albert Wright, Jr., president and CEO of WVU Health System. “We at WVU Medicine thank them for their tireless work for the people of the Mountain State and extend our heartfelt congratulations for receiving this much deserved and hard-earned honor.”

The award will be presented to HealthNet Aeromedical Services in November at the AAMS Air Medical Transport Conference being held in Atlanta, Georgia.
