Hepatitis A vaccine available in Employee Health

Hepatitis A cases in West VIrginia are on the rise. Statewide, there are 2,214 confirmed cases, with the majority in Kahawha and Cabell counties. In past years, West Virginia has averaged nine cases annually.

To combat the outbreak, health officials are urging people to get vaccinated against the hepatitis A virus.

WVU Medicine employees can get a free hepatitis A vaccine in Employee Health. Located on the second floor of J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Employee Health is open weekdays from 6:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Employees will need to complete a hepatitis A survey in ReadySet prior to being vaccinated. Please call Employee Health at 304-598-4160 if you would like to complete the survey prior to your clinic visit.
