HSC Microsoft 365 services today (10/31) starting at 10 p.m.

HSC Microsoft 365 Migration scheduled for School of Public Health

All HSC Microsoft 365 services will be unavailable for 3-4 hours starting at 10 p.m. today (Monday, 10/31) due to previously announced system migration. (All SPH faculty and staff should have received an email about this migration on 10/17 from microsoft@hsc.wvu.edu with additional details.)

Your HSC Microsoft 365 account will be unavailable for 3-4 hours starting at 10 p.m. on Monday, October 31, 2022, as part of the previously announced Active Directory migration project. Access to all HSC Microsoft 365 tools, including Outlook, Teams, Calendar and SharePoint, will be unavailable while the work is being completed. If this time is not feasible for you, please reach out to your department chair or supervisor immediately.

WVU ITS and HSC ITS are working together to rebuild a tool called Active Directory (AD), which determines what resources faculty and staff can access based on their roles at the University. This project will give HSC more independence on system changes and updates. Generally, these changes will occur behind the scenes and with no disruption to your productivity.

With HSC Microsoft 365, the main change you will see is where you log in when using Outlook Web Access. Instead of using office365.hsc.wvu.edu, you will log in at office.com after your department is migrated to the new system. If you launch Outlook from the client installed on your computer, rather than the web app, you won’t see any changes.

The login and Duo screens will look different, but you will use the same WVU Login username and password to access services. For more details, please review this article (WVU credentials required), which includes Frequently Asked Questions.

Please direct any questions to the HSC ITS Help Desk at hsc_helpdesk@hsc.wvu.edu or 304-293-3631 option 1.
