Inaugural Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship graduates first fellow

The Advanced Endoscopy team, led by Dr. Shyam Thakkar, has pioneered an effort to offer an Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship - the first in the state. This symbolizes WVU’s commitment to excellence in medical education and its’ continued efforts to provide cutting-edge healthcare to the community. Working as an extension of the surgical oncology team at the WVU Cancer Institute, our Advanced Endoscopists offer the ability to detect, stage, and treat many forms of cancer including bile duct, colon, liver, and pancreatic. Training alongside the three Advanced Endoscopists, Dr. Shyam Thakkar, Dr. Shailendra Singh, and Dr. Matthew “Skip” Krafft, the inaugural fellow, Dr. Moiz Ahmed received invaluable training that he will use in his new position at Community Health Network in Indianapolis.
