Interprofessional Education invites campus community to CAARES educational event

The WVU Health Sciences Office of Interprofessional Education will offer an educational event exploring the impact of social determinants of health and unique experiences throughout the day Wednesday, March 22 as part of IPE Week.

Open to all WVU students, faculty and staff ages 18 and older, the CAARES House - Curiosity, Accountability, Appreciation, Respect, Empathy and Service - immersive experience was developed to help individuals become a healthcare professional who CAARES. Participants may attend the event based on their own availability from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Pharmacy Skills Development Center located on the Health Sciences Center - North third floor. Expected viewing time is approximately 15 to 30 minutes.

Throughout the viewing period, participants will be presented with close-ended questions and immersive visual prompts in different rooms.

This event is being conducted as part of a research project approved by the WVU Office of Human Research Protections. Individuals may attend without participating in the research portion and will not be impacted by opting out. Those who do participate will be asked to respond anonymously to questions using stickers or electronic methods and complete a two question post-evaluation during the event.

Involvement with the research project is completely anonymous. All data will be reported in the aggregate. Individuals will not be asked any questions that could lead back to their identity as a participant. Participation is entirely voluntary. Individuals may skip any question they do not wish to answer and may stop participating at any time.
