Ivanoff inducted into International College of Dentists

West Virginia University School of Dentistry faculty member Chris Ivanoff, DDS, has been awarded fellowship in the International College of Dentists. His induction ceremony took place during the USA Section Annual Meeting & Convocation held Sept. 12-13 in San Diego, California.

Dr. Ivanoff is a professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and director of global engagement.

The International College of Dentists is a leading honorary dental organization dedicated to the recognition of outstanding professional achievement, service and dedication to the profession of dentistry for the benefit of all humankind. To be awarded fellowship, an individual must first be nominated and pass a peer-review process at evaluates several professional standards, such as integrity, ethics, knowledge and generosity.

During the regalia ceremony, Ivanoff was presented with a membership plaque, a gold lapel pin and an engraved gold key symbolic of the fellowship for conspicuous service rendered in the art and science of dentistry. As a member of USA District 6, which includes West Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee, Ivanoff processed with Samuel Vesli, DDS, a WVU alumnus and the District 6 regent.

WVU School of Dentistry alumni Michael Petrides, DDS, and Pete Petrides, DDS, were also inducted during the ceremony. They were nominated by fellow alumnus Trey Wilcox, DDS.

The International College of Dentists includes representative chapters in more than 140 countries and has over 12,000 members.
