Match Day 2022: WVU Rural Family Medicine residency program welcomes the Class of 2025

The West Virginia University Rural Family Medicine residency program in Harpers Ferry is excited to announce five newly matched fourth-year medical students to the program.

Rural Family Medicine welcomes Yi “Patrick” An from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Brant Boucher from the Virginia Commonwealth University College of Medicine, Samantha Fleisher from the St. George’s University School of Medicine, Brittany Lewis from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Thomas Park from the Medical College of Wisconsin to the Class of 2025.

“We are incredibly excited to have these five talented students match with our program,” said Residency Program Director Angela Cherry, M.D. “Here at the Rural Family Medicine program, we are a family ourselves, and we always look forward to welcoming a new group of young medical professionals to our family each year. “

This three-year residency program educates residents in the practice of full-spectrum family medicine in a unique rural setting. The new residents will begin their residency in July and will graduate from the program in July 2025.

Residents of the program practice primarily at Harpers Ferry Family Medicine, a clinic that sees more than 30,000 patient visits per year. Residents also do inpatient rotations at Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson, additional training at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg and inpatient pediatrics rotations at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
