“The Rack” student food bank will be open starting November 20. You can find The Rack across from the Marketplace.

Pronoun buttons, safe zone magnets and stickers are now available in the Student Services Suite courtesy of the LGBTQ+ Center! Come by and pick some up today!

REMINDER – Complete the ISA Each class may receive additional wellness funds for reaching certain completion rates: $500 for reaching 90%; $250 for reaching 75%; $100 for reaching 50%. An extra $500 for the class with highest completion; classes with 100% completion will split the additional $500.

Apply for Graduation beginning January 18, you must APPLY for graduation with the University. You will find the instructions to apply via STAR through the registrar’s website. Be prepared to provide a mailing address for your diploma when completing the form.

IPE and HIV Service Learning Opportunity. This activity is an opportunity for our HSC students to collaborate with students from other disciplines, gain experience working with a standardized patient with HIV and receive a $10 gift card to Chick-fil-a or Starbucks upon completion. Please mark your calendars for the Getting to 4th Year meeting on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 4:30 via Zoom. We will be going over all the steps to take to get ready for your 4th year to include, scheduling, VSLO/away rotations, required courses, electives, rural health and CPX.

PEDIATRICS RESIDENCY RURAL SCHOLARs APPLICATIONS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED

If you hope to complete your pediatrics residency at WVU in Morgantown, consider applying to the Pediatrics Residency Rural Scholars Program. Benefits include a $10,000 stipend applied to your Year 4 tuition, your creation and implementation of a rural scholar’s project of your choice, IPad for your rural project data, guaranteed acceptance into the WVU Pediatrics Residency Program, and more. The AAMC website estimates that the average cost of travel for residency interviews can be as high as nearly $12,000. The earned and saved money is great, the completion of a scholarly project is fulfilling, and the peace of mind from knowing you have matched at your number one choice for residency is priceless. Camp Ho Mita Koda Foundation: Diabetes Summer Camp - Camp Ho Mita Koda is a coed summer camp for kids and teens with Type 1 Diabetes. Located in Newbury, Ohio, our overnight, day and family camps welcome boys and girls in grades K-11 for one-week sessions. Founded in 1929, Camp Ho Mita Koda is the oldest operating summer camp in the world for kids with T1D! A great hands-on opportunity for students with an interest in endocrinology or pediatrics would like to experience managing blood sugars and insulin dosing in a fun and active outdoor setting. Students will work with clinical diabetes educators and pediatric endocrinologists. Dates run June 5, 2022 to July 23, 2022. Housing and food provided.
