Sarnoff Medical Student Fellowship Information Session
On Sunday, October 19 at 4-5 EST, a virtual info session with be held for interested fellowship applicants; register for the session by emailing Dana Boyd. The mission of the Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Foundation is to engage medical students in a personalized research experience with preeminent cardiovascular scientists and to foster the next generation of leaders in the field. Spanning more than 45 years, the Fellowship program has afforded medical students from across the nation extraordinary, often career direction defining, experiences of mentorship and research.
The Sarnoff Fellowship Program offers medical students enrolled in accredited U.S. medical schools the opportunity to spend a year conducting intensive work in a biomedical research facility in the United States. The award provides an annual stipend and allowance. The application deadline for the 2026-27 Sarnoff Fellowship is January 7, 2026. More information: www.SarnoffFoundation.org

Mock Learners Needed
STEPS is seeking two fourth-year medical students to serve as mock learners for the Simulation Certificate Program on October 9, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Faculty participants will be developing and facilitating simulation scenarios appropriate for learners at your stage of training. The program will consist of two one-hour sessions, each including a pre-brief, a manikin-based scenario, and a debriefing. No recording will take place during these sessions. Your participation is valued and will be recognized with community service hours. In addition, this experience may provide an opportunity to enhance your own learning. To volunteer or for additional information, please contact lamiller@hsc.wvu.edu. Participants will meet in STEPS Debriefing Room 2.
Career Planning and Advising Sessions with Dr. Hashmi
All MS4 students should take advantage of the Career Planning and Advising Sessions provided by Dr. Hashmi on Wednesdays in Medical Education to optimize your Residency application with reviews of your CV's, personal statements, and Residency Program selections. The goal is help you best position yourself to obtain the Residency Program of your choice. Email mhashmi@hsc.wvu.edu for an appointment.
