New security setting to be implemented Feb. 14

New security setting to be implemented Feb. 14

Starting Monday, Feb. 14, all University-owned devices will begin to display a one-paragraph security statement to remind users of the Acceptable Use Policy and advise that any illegal, improper or unauthorized activity may result in disciplinary action.  This will appear each time you log into a WVU-owned or -managed machine, after each reboot, and when you use Remote Desktop Access.  It will not display when screens lock after 15 minutes of inactivity

For reference, the message will appear as follows:

This is a West Virginia University technology resource. Use of this resource including related network, systems and data is for authorized individuals only and subject to WVU policies. Pursuant to the Acceptable Use Policy, WVU reserves the right to monitor use of this resource and may report any illegal, improper or unauthorized activity as necessary. Such activity may result in disciplinary action consistent with University policies, as well as civil and criminal penalties. By logging into this resource, you indicate your consent to these conditions.
