Operation Blue Sky at Health Sciences hosts events during WVU Week of Purpose
WVU’s third Week of Purpose will take place on Monday, Sept. 23 through Friday, Sept. 27. Students, faculty and staff are invited to enjoy a variety of events and take this opportunity for self-exploration, learn a new perspective and engage with others as we continue this purposeful journey together.
Week of Purpose events are open to the entire WVU campus community. Operation Blue Sky at Health Sciences will host additional events during the week on the Health Sciences Campus.
Monday, Sept. 23
- Create Your Own Vision Board; 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Pylons Commons; Picture your goals and create your own personalized vision board. The Operation Blue Sky art cart will be available.
- Meet Miniature Horses; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Pylons Commons
- Virtual Meditation Class; 11:30 a.m.; Unwind right at your desk with neuroscientist Julie Brefczynski-Lewis.
- Meet Therapy Dogs; 2-3 p.m.; Pylons Commons; Take a cuddle break with therapy dogs Rigatoni, Lancelot and Titan.
Tuesday, Sept. 24

Healthy Breakfast; 7:30-10:30 a.m.; Pylons Commons; Join students from the WVU School of Medicine Culinary Track as they demo healthy breakfast selections. Enjoy samples of breakfast smoothies, protein muffins and peanut butter/chocolate protein bites. Ask questions, get recipes and learn all about easy and delicious ways to improve your nutrition.

Healthy Food Demo with Brittany Furbee; 12-2 p.m.; Pylons Commons; Meet WVU Alumni Brittany Furbee, a competitive chef and winner of Food Network’s Cooks vs. Cons. Brittany will offer recipes and demo fun and healthy snacks.

Pot Your Own Herbs; 12-3 p.m.; Memorial Gardens; Make healthy meals more exciting and stop by the Memorial Gardens to pot your own herbs to grow at home.
Wednesday, Sept. 25
- Pod Squad Virtual Meetup; 12-12:45 p.m.; Zoom; Discover, connect and enjoy two podcasts from WVU and beyond. More info.
Thursday, Sept 26
- Chair Messages; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Pylons Commons (behind Jazzman’s); Take a break from your day and enjoy free chair messages from BlissBlissBliss.
- Indoor & Outdoor walking paths; Get your steps in with walking paths sponsored by Operation Blue Sky in collaboration with the Exercise Psychology Department. Track your progress with markers along the way.
