President and CEO of American Board of Pediatrics to present on child health leadership in May

Judy Schaechter, M.D., MBA, president and CEO of the American Board of Pediatrics,  will present the WVU Department of Pediatrics Gwendolyn Hogan Lectureship on Wednesday, May 10, at 8 a.m. in the Fukushima Auditorium (Room 1901) at the WVU Health Sciences Center.

Dr. Schaechter’s presentation is entitled “Leading for children: A look back to fuel us forward.”

The Grand Rounds will:

  • Encourage participants to commit to being and becoming a child health leader.
  • Review examples of child health leadership as a professional responsibility.

Schaechter will also present at noon the same day in the Bruce McClymonds Conference Room Side A for a conference that explores mission, purpose and function of the American Board of Pediatrics.

In her role with the American Board of Pediatrics, Schaechter leads setting standards of excellence, improving child health outcomes and engaging trainees and pediatricians to continuously improve learning and care.

She previously served as chair for the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Miami, service chief for Child Health at Jackson Memorial Health System and professor of Pediatrics and Public Health Sciences at the University of Miami.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits may be available for participants.
