PRT card readers updated, certain ID cards must be replaced to ride

In an effort to update PRT equipment, card swipe machines at all WVU PRT stations have been replaced with newer devices that only require an ID card tap for access.

With this change, any employees or students who are still using an ID card issued before June 19, 2017, must obtain a new ID card to use the PRT. Cards issued before this date do not have the technology required to function with these new card readers. There will be no cost to the student or employee to replace these cards or ones with damaged chips.

Students, faculty and staff at Health Sciences can have new ID cards printed at G101-North HSC Ground Floor at the Copy/Service Center Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
