Ready for Work Clothing Drive runs through Oct. 25

Ahead of "Make a Difference Day" on Saturday, Oct. 26, the VISTA Collaborative at WVU's Center for Service and Learning is partnering with WV Women Moving Forward to host a Ready for Work Clothing Drive from October 14-25. The drive will connect local non-profits with in-demand professional items to help West Virginians secure a job or stay at work. Donations will be provided to Christian Help, Starting Points Family Resource Center, and United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties.

Students, faculty, staff, and community members are encouraged to clean out their closets and donate lightly loved women’s items purchased within the past three to five years with no stains, holes, or tears at one of the drop-off locations across Morgantown campuses.

For convenience, there is a drop-off location at the Health Sciences Center on the first floor behind Cavanaugh's (Pylons Atrium). 

The most needed items include:

  • Professional winter clothing
  • Maternity clothing
  • Black pants, sizes 0-2, 16+
  • White button-down shirts and professional tops, sizes XL+
  • Solid color scrubs, all sizes
  • Non-slip shoes, sizes 9+
