Strategic Communications and Marketing provides update on digital signage upgrades
WVU Strategic Communications and Marketing – Mixed Media recently provided an update on the University’s digital signage content management system, previously known as InfoStations.
The unit has made significant progress towards the launch of a new Yodeck digital signage content management system.
The group reports the Yodeck enterprise system has been populated with workspaces, different user permission levels, content layouts, and playlists.
WVU IT has approved secure SSO (single sign-on) login through the WVU portal.
Next Steps (in-progress)
-
Refine content playlists for campus-wide and system-wide feeds
-
Develop Qualtrics form to intake digital signage requests.
- Revise and finalize Best Practices.
- Develop a WVU Digital Signage Network web page.
- Finalize new screen installation standards and specifications.
- Bid and close an RFP to secure a vendor to perform technology swaps, repairs, or new screen installations (for teams that do not have their own technologists).
When the Mixed Media team is satisfied with the performance and readiness of the Yodeck digital signage content management system, they will contact colleges, schools, , and departments with information on next steps.
The Mixed Media team appreciates your patience and support, noting that the current InfoStations system has been operating for 18 years. They are trying to maintain the old system, but the primary objective is to launch and build the new cloud-based Yodeck enterprise digital signage content management system.
WVU Health Sciences’ leadership is exploring a centralized approach for the maintenance and upgrade prioritization of managing digital signage. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
