Symposium: Health Inequities Exposed and Exacerbated by the COVID-19 Pandemic

Wednesday, June 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted historically disadvantaged communities due to pre-existing inequities in the healthcare system and disparities in access to technology, healthcare, and social services.

Addressing these disparities will require cross-sector strategies and interdisciplinary coordination from advocates, practitioners, policymakers and researchers examining the health, education, environmental justice, social and behavioral sciences, law and technology implications of the pandemic.

AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellows are hosting a day-long symposium addressing ‘Health Inequities Exposed and Exacerbated by the COVID-19 Pandemic' on Wednesday, June 30.

The symposium will feature expert panels on healthcare access, health literacy, and the long-term social, behavioral, and economic impacts of COVID-19 mitigation efforts.
