The Surgery Interest Group hosted Women In Surgery Night
The Surgery Interest Group hosted one more Women In Surgery Night on February 18th. This annual event encourages women medical students to interact with women surgeons at WVU Medicine and gain valuable insights into professionals already practicing. Surgeons and residents offered advice and personal stories including experiences from mentoring, residency, managing a work-life balance, and the joy of a surgical career. These ‘real life’ discussions were encouraging and hopefully motivated the students to pursue various surgical disciplines. The Surgery Interest Group promotes and fosters student interest in a career in surgery.
