Three new APPs are joining the ranks

Brittany Halberg, NP, Erin Cunningham, NP, and Charlene Arena, NP, have all recently joined the department as APPs.

Halberg attended Old Dominion University in Virginia for her degree in nursing. After graduating, she worked as an emergency department staff nurse at Lynchburg General Hospital. In her next roles, she moved to Charlottesville, Virginia to work at the University of Virginia Health System as an emergency department staff nurse followed by some time with MedExpress Urgent Care as a family nurse practitioner. During this time, she was earning her master’s in nursing from Walden University.

Cunningham and Arena are both starting with the hospitalist group. Cunningham received both her bachelor’s and master’s in nursing from West Virginia University. After graduating, she stayed in Morgantown to work as a registered nurse for WVU Medicine where she transitioned into a charge nurse role.

Arena earned her bachelor’s in exercise physiology from Kent State University in Ohio. After earning her undergraduate degree, Arena went on to pursue her master’s in physician assistant studies at Alderson Broaddus University in Philippi, West Virginia. She worked with WVU Medicine in critical care medicine as a physician assistant after finishing her program.
