Undergraduate course for Summer 2025: Public Mental Health (PUBH 458)

Public Mental Health (PUBH 458) is an online course open to undergraduate students. There are no prerequisites, restrictions or special permissions required to enroll.

This 3-credit hour course, instructed by Ahmed Aboraya, MD, DrPH, introduces students to the core principles and methods of general epidemiology, with a focus on their application to mental health. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the role and significance of mental health within the broader field of public health. The course presents current scientific knowledge on the epidemiology and risk factors of major psychiatric disorders, including anxiety, mood, psychotic, personality and substance use disorders.
