Walk with a Future Doc session to feature discussion on mental health benefits of exercise

This week's Walk with a Future Doc session will feature a presentation on the mental health benefits of exercise.

The presenter will be Raja Mogallapu, M.D., an assistant professor for the Department of Behavioral Health and Psychiatry on the Eastern Campus. Dr. Mogallapu's presentation is titled "Exercise and Diet in Mental Health." The presentation will focus on how insulin resistance can affect mood and how exercise can provide mental health benefits. It will also include discussion on the relationships between concepts such as obesity, addiction and depression with mental and physical health.

The walk will be held on Saturday, April 30, at 9 a.m. in a hybrid format. Participants can either meet at the front entrance of the Student Recreation Center in Morgantown, or join via Zoom and walk along at home. Participants are asked to bring headphones if they plan to attend in person.
