Walk with a Future Doc session to feature discussion on narrative medicine

Andrea Labus, M.D., will give a presentation on making medicine meaningful during the Walk with a Future Doc session on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m.

Dr. Labus is an assistant professor and associate program director in the Section of Internal Medicine and Department of Medicine. Her discussion will focus on the importance for healthcare providers to take the time to fully understand their patient’s whole story, and the value of working towards being a well-rounded physician who understands economic and cultural factors, as this helps us understand our patients better and advocate for them.

Participants can meet at Star City Riverfront Park at mile 6.7 of the Mon River Rail Trail near Terra Cafe to join the walk in person. Participants can also join the walk remotely via Zoom and walk along at home.

To participate in the event virtually, sign up for the WVU Walk with a Future Doc newsletter and you will receive login information ahead of each walk.
