WVU Division of OT to Host Go Baby Go Service Project

The WVU Division of Occupational Therapy in conjunction with the Division of Physical Therapy will continue the GoBabyGo service project this September. The GoBabyGo project provides modified battery-powered ride-on cars for children who have limited ability to use a traditional ride-on car toy.

Cars are customized to the child and possible modifications include seating support, changing activation control from foot to a hand switch, and steering modifications.  The service project is provided by OT students under the supervision of Carrie Smith-Bell, MOT, OTR/L and Diana Davis, PhD, MA, OTR/L

To receive a car from the WVU Go Baby Go program, parents must agree to fill out a form to provide the team information about their child and to attend a fitting and training session (approximately 1 to 2 hours). The cars and any necessary modifications are free!  Parents and caregivers of children between 2 and 4 years of age who are interested should contact Carrie Smith-Bell at cbell@hsc.wvu.edu.

This service project provides modified cars free to families. Those interested in sponsoring full or partial costs of the modifications are welcome to visit our crowdfunding page
