WVU quarterback Will Grier has been named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for two straight weeks. Grier, a transfer from Florida, made his debut with the Mountaineers Sept. 3 against the Virginia Tech Hokies in which he passed for 371 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for another 52 yards. Last week, Grier threw five touchdown passes as WVU routed East Carolina 56-20. Through two games, Grier is 10th nationally in passing yards with 723, ahead of both Baker Mayfield of Oklahoma and Mason Rudolph of Oklahoma State. Grier is also 3rd nationally in passing touchdowns, tied with Drew Louck of Mizzou and Nathan Stanley from Iowa.
