WVU Hospitals MRI Program receives reaccreditation
Only accredited program in West Virginia
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Program at the WVU Center for Advanced Imaging has been accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), the only programmatic MRI accreditor in the country recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE). It is the only JCERT-accredited MRI program in the state. 
It is a 12-month certificate program offering comprehensive didactic and clinical education in MRI. It is open to radiologic technologists who have previously completed an accredited program in Radiologic Technology and have at least an associate’s degree. Students enrolled are eligible to participate in the USDE Student financial aid (Title IV) programs.
Successful completion of the Program qualifies graduates as eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) primary certification exam in MRI, pending ARRT review and approval of the applicant. In addition, the Program fulfills the educational requirements for all U.S. states requiring state licensure or certification. It is sponsored by WVU Hospitals.
The program started in 2009 and has been under the direction of Brad Holben, M.S.H.A., R.T.(R)(MR), since its inception.

In addition to MRI, WVU Hospitals sponsors educational programs in Radiography, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, and Echocardiography. Graduates from all programs all eligible to apply for the respective national credentialing exam in their respective discipline and all educational components, clinical and didactic, are conducted within WVU Medicine facilities.
