WVU School of Nursing alum visits Japan following cultural exchange
After visiting Japan last year during a nursing school cultural exchange, WVU School of Nursing alum Sydney Cain recently traveled back to the country to attend the Hamamatsu Kite Festival, which features multiple kites, Japanese food and other cultural displays.
Cain traveled alongside Dana Friend, Coordinator of Global Programs, for the exchange in March 2024 with the Hamamatsu Nursing School. The following March, several students and faculty members from Hamamatsu traveled to Morgantown to visit the WVU School of Nursing.
“It’s really neat that one year later, as a new graduate, Sydney returned to Hamamatsu and met up with the faculty and students who visited us,” Friend said. In addition to attending the Hamamatsu Kite Festival, Cain also participated in the Hamamatsu Nursing School’s “Golden Week” sports activities.
