WVU tops $11 million for Day of Giving; WVU Medicine among main recipients

West Virginia University’s third annual Day of Giving brought a bounty of more than $11 million for the institution with WVU Medicine and related entities being among the top beneficiaries.

WVU Medicine Children’s ranked fourth with 326 gifts, including a $1 million gift from United Bank. The WVU School of Medicine was seventh with 208 gifts, and the WVU Cancer Institute eighth with 180 gifts, according to a Day of Giving website. Thanks to the United Bank gift, WVU Medicine Children’s was third among money-raisers with $1,213,359.04.
