Description of Training Program
The Postdoctoral Residency in Pediatric Psychology has been designed to provide trainees with expertise and clinically relevant experience within the field of pediatric psychology, specifically in the practice of integrated and multidisciplinary care and in the treatment of children and adolescents with concurrent physical health issues.
Core rotations of the program includes participation in WVU Medicine Children’s multidisciplinary clinics in a wide variety of pediatric subspecialties.
- Endocrinology
- Neurology (Headache/Pain)
- Cystic Fibrosis
- Cleft Palate
- Gastroenterology
- Pediatric Hematology/Oncology
- Family Weight Management
- Behavioral Sleep
- Consultation/Liaison
Additional rotations within the program will be assigned throughout the year and will include opportunities for assessment and intervention with behavioral health populations, pediatric primary care, long term psychotherapy for medico-psychological needs (e.g. pain), neurodevelopment, substance abuse, eating disorders, early childhood populations.
