WVU Medicine Ruby Memorial Hospital
Morgantown, West Virginia
WVU Medicine -Ruby Memorial Hospital is the flagship, academic hospital of the WVU Medicine system that provides tertiary care to the people of West Virginia. It is the primary training site for the WVU Emergency Medicine residency program.

WVU Medicine United Hospital Center
Bridgeport, West Virginia
WVU Medicine—UHC is the community emergency medicine training site for the WVU Emergency Medicine residency program, located approximately 30 miles south of Morgantown. This state of the art hospital, built in 2010, offers our residents an efficient, high volume community EM experience, while working alongside faculty employed by the WVU Department of Emergency Medicine. Residents spend a total of five months at UHC during their three years at WVU, with additional elective opportunities available.

Rural Emergency Medicine Institute (REMI)
WVU EM residents have the opportunity to participate in our unique rural EM experience, also known as REMI, throughout the state of West Virginia. REMI is an organized group of rural clinical practice sites within the WVU Department of Emergency Medicine. Residents may participate in the REMI experience during their selective EM month (PGY-2) or either/both of their elective experiences (PGY-2/3) to gain more experience in this niche of EM care. This experience exposes them to a diverse set of situations, not routinely encountered in quaternary care settings, including but not limited to: management of critically ill patients without a large number of back up services, more limited availability of consultants in general (more procedural opportunities), and experience identifying and executing the transfer of patients to higher levels of care.
