Wellness

Included in our education is a robust wellness curriculum. Residents participate a once-a-month curriculum consisting of didactic lectures and debrief sessions with our lead clinical therapist. Here, residents are able to learn about different facets of wellness along with discuss areas of concern or struggles in a safe, confidential setting. The curriculum also includes time for group wellness, which provides residents an opportunity for team building, and individual wellness time.

In addition to the wellness curriculum, residents are periodically given what we call “Health Maintenance Afternoons.” These are scheduled half days off from clinical duties in order to allow residents to schedule time for doctor appointments, dentist appointments, car maintenance, or other individual needs. We also provide scheduled time for our residents to meet with our Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) for free counseling services if interested.
