Letter from Director

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in the Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellowship at West Virginia University.

The mission of our ACGME-accredited fellowship is to offer a comprehensive, one-year, advanced training program in musculoskeletal imaging, with a strong emphasis on both diagnostic interpretation and procedural proficiency. Fellows gain extensive experience in radiography, CT, and MRI, as well as in performing procedures such as arthrography, joint aspirations, and CT-guided bone and soft tissue biopsies.

Our program is based at WVU Medicine’s flagship hospital—an 880-bed, rapidly growing academic medical center that serves as the state’s only level one trauma center. This setting provides a high-volume, high-acuity training environment that encompasses all facets of orthopedic imaging—including trauma, oncology, sports medicine, musculoskeletal infection, rheumatology, and joint replacement. In addition, our section is proud to provide imaging services to WVU’s Division I collegiate athletes, offering fellows invaluable exposure to high-performance sports medicine cases.

We offer a personalized learning experience with a single fellowship position each year, allowing for close one-on-one instruction, tailored mentorship, and ample opportunities to engage in teaching and research. Whether your career path leads to academic radiology or private practice, our goal is to ensure you graduate with the clinical expertise and professional confidence needed to excel.

We invite you to explore more about our curriculum, faculty, and community here at West Virginia University. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
