Fellows Research Academy Kick-Off

Fellows Research Academy Kick-Off

In a partnership with West Virginia Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute, the department is piloting a new educational opportunity for fellows at the Health Sciences Center.

Drs. Marsh, Hodder, Feinberg and Konrad welcomed first- and second-year fellows to the WVCTSI Fellows Research Academy on July 15th.

The Fellows Research Academy aims to train fellows in the skills necessary to conduct and lead clinical and translational science research in their respective disciplines. Fellows will meet twice a month over the course of a year. Sessions will cover such topics as developing an individual opportunity plan, understanding study design options, how to manage a project and lead a team, writing successful grant application and submitting a publication. These sessions are led by topic experts both outside and within the university. The fellows are supported in this endeavor by their Fellowship Program Directors and the Department of Medicine. If you’d like to know more about this program please contact the FRA Associate Co-Director, Jesse Thompson.
