Immunology and Medical Microbiology student wins first place at ABASM Conference
Immunology and Medical Microbiology undergraduate student Sam Ulicny was awarded first place in the Undergraduate Poster Presentation in the Medical Microbiology category at the 2024 Allegheny Branch, American Society of Microbiology Conference (ABASM).
Ulicny is a student in the lab of Mariette Barbier, Ph.D., in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Cell Biology.
Ashley Divens, a graduate student in the Immunology and Microbial Pathogenesis program, and Amira Palmer, an IMMB undergraduate student, also attended the conference and presented their research.
The annual conference was held November 1-2 at the University of Pittsburgh – Greensburg campus. Students had the opportunity to attend lectures with Brenda Anne Wilson, Ph.D., a current American Society for Microbiology (ASM) distinguished lecturer.
