Margaret Favro is recognized for 35 years of service to West Virginia University

Rebecca Schmidt, DO, FACP, FASN, and Bethany Pellegrino, M.D. of the Department of Medicine's Section of Nephrology would like to congratulate Margaret Favro for 35 years of service at West Virginia University.

"Margaret has served the Section of Nephrology for many of her 35 years at WVU and was integral in the decentralization of our main campus nephrology clinic into the rural clinic system it is today. Margaret provided steadfast support and insight into scheduling matters, managed scheduling needs and was integral to the processes behind the scenes that have made the Nephrology Rural Initiative a system of successful rural clinics providing some 60,000 patient visits and saving more than 6 million miles of driving for patients from more than 30 counties in north central West Virginia, southwestern Pennsylvania and western Maryland over the past 15 years. Over the course of her time with Nephrology, Margaret has worked diligently to make these clinics work for the growing number of faculty and advanced practitioners in the Section, in addition to her role in the scheduling responsibilities for the Section's coverage of multiple inpatient services and a growing number of outpatient dialysis units across the region in addition to the outpatient clinics locally and regionally. Margaret's dedication, accountability, insight and hard work have been integral to the successes in Nephrology and we are grateful for her contributions!"
