Master of Science in Medical Laboratory Science program to hold virtual open house
Students interested in learning more about the WVU School of Medicine’s Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Master’s degree are invited to attend a virtual open house on January 23 at 4 pm via Zoom.
Sessions are intended for college seniors and graduates who have majored in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Immunology or another related science degree and would be applying for the class that begins in January 2026. This master’s degree is intended for those with science degrees who want to work in a clinical laboratory setting and is not intended for those who are already certified as an MLS.
In this session, potential applicants will learn about the MLS degree, career prospects, admission requirements, curriculum, tuition and more.

About WVU’s Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Master’s Degree
The Master of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science provides the opportunity for students with degrees in the sciences to enter the laboratory profession and prepares them to become board-certified and work in a clinical laboratory immediately upon graduation.
The 18-month program is based at the WVU Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center in Morgantown, West Virginia. It includes lectures and student laboratory instruction before a semester of experiential training on-site at a hospital laboratory.
