Match Day 2022: WVU Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Residency Program welcomes the Class of 2026

The West Virginia University Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences is excited to announce four newly matched fourth-year medical students to the residency program.

The program welcomes Deena Dahshan from Marshall University, Yonah Levy from Tulane University, Michael Shi from the University at Buffalo and Sanya Yadav from the University of Pittsburgh to the Class of 2026.

“We are very excited to have these four talented students match with us and certainly look forward to welcoming them aboard as the newest members of our Mountaineer family,” said WVU Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Residency Program Director Geoff Bradford, M.D.

Upon arriving at WVU in July, the medical school graduates will begin their training as hospital interns, before transitioning into full-time residents in ophthalmology for the next three years. As interns, they will spend three months dedicated to ophthalmology rotations with the remaining nine months spent on hospital rotations in a variety of other specialty areas. On July 1, 2023, the interns will officially become residents and they will graduate from the program in June 2026.
