Medicine Grand Rounds: Drs. Jagadeesan and Kumar to give presentation on GLP—1 RA

Two assistant professors will give a presentation on medications commonly used in the treatment of diabetes and obesity during the Department of Medicine grand rounds on Friday, Sept. 29, at 8 a.m.

The presenters will be Vikrant Jagadeesan, M.D., and Smita Kumar, M.D. Dr. Jagadeesan is an assistant professor for the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Division of Cardiology. Dr. Kumar is an assistant professor for the Department of Medicine.

The presentation is titled "GLP—1 RA's: Beyond the Hollywood Tabloids." Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, commonly abbreviated as GLP—1 RA, are a class of medications utilized in the treatment of type-two diabetes and obesity.

The presentation will be held online via Zoom and in person. The in-person presentation will take place in the Fukushima Auditorium on the first floor of the Health Sciences Center near the entrance to the Dental Clinic.
