Dialectical Behavior Therapy

The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Services Program at West Virginia University School of Medicine-Charleston provides comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to adults and adolescents. Our treatment services adhere to the evidence-based model of DBT, and are provided by a consultation team that has completed the DBT Intensive Training process with Behavioral Tech, LLC.

Our Comprehensive DBT program offers evidence-based treatment for people with:

  • Chronic, recurring suicidal thoughts and behavior
  • Recurring non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI)
  • Borderline Personality Disorder
  • Eating Disorders involving bingeing and/or purging behaviors (e.g., Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder)
  • Severe mood disorders (e.g., bipolar disorder) that co-occur with any of the above
