Match Day 2023: WVU Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences announces incoming residents and fellows for 2023

The West Virginia University Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences will welcome seven newly-matched incoming residents and fellows to its residency and fellowship programs in July.

The Ophthalmology Residency Program will welcome incoming residents Rawan Elhamdani from Marshall University; Robert Finley from the State University of New York at Buffalo; Haseeb Mahmud from Virginia Commonwealth University; and Omar Sadat from WVU.

“It is my pleasure to welcome these four talented students to the WVU Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences,” said residency program director Bradley Thuro, M.D. “I look forward to working closely with each of them over the next four years of their medical training.”

The Department will also welcome incoming fellows Jamie Dietze, M.D., James Dossett, M.D., and Diane Wang, M.D. to the Morgantown Campus in July.

Dr. Dietze will join the Glaucoma Fellowship Program. She is currently completing her residency at WVU where she serves as chief resident. She earned her medical degree from the University of Nebraska.

Dr. Dossett will join the Vitreoretinal Fellowship Program. He is currently completing his residency at Stony Brook University and earned his medical degree from Tufts University.

Dr. Wang will join the Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship Program. She is currently completing her residency at the State University of New York Downstate and earned her medical degree from New York University.
