Section of Cardiology fellows win American College of Cardiology FIT Jeopardy competition

Section of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine fellows Moinuddin Syed, M.D., Pratik Agrawal, M.D., and Sean Regner, M.D., recently won the American College of Cardiology “Fellows-in-Training Jeopardy Competition: Battle of the Chapters” at the American College of Cardiology’s Annual Scientific Session & Expo 2022 in Washington, D.C.

The Cardiology Fellowship Program is led by Sudarshan Balla, M.D., program director and an associate professor in the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery and the Division of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine. The fellows competed with American College of Cardiology chapter teams around the country to test their knowledge on a variety of topics that were based on the American Board of Internal Medicine Cardiovascular Disease Exam Blueprint.

Around 40 American College of Cardiology state chapters competed at this year’s FIT Jeopardy competition. Each state chapter is comprised of a team of cardiology fellows that represent their respective state. Chapters compete in several Jeopardy-style rounds to advance to the final round of competition.

“It was truly an exceptional experience to advance through the preliminary, semi-final and final rounds, and to ultimately go on to win the title of American College of Cardiology FIT Jeopardy champions 2022,” said Dr. Agrawal.

Dr. Agrawal is proud of his team’s hard work and is thankful for all the faculty support the team received.

“We did not know what to expect on the big stage, but we were confident and excited to represent our fellowship program and the state chapter,” said Dr. Agrawal. “It is a great honor. I would like to give special thanks to our faculty for their support and encouragement.”
